Beautiful vintage Japanese-style black lacquer musical jewelry/trinket box with hand-painted scenic decoration, iridescent shell/MOP-style inlay, rickshaw interior artwork, removable miniature jewelry box, metal key, and a concealed wind-up mechanical cylinder music-box movement.
The box measures approximately 6 × 4 × 4 inches and stands on four shaped feet.
The glossy black exterior is decorated with colorful landscape scenes incorporating palm trees, vegetation, birds and architectural imagery. The top features a detailed waterside architectural scene surrounded by an attractive border of irregular iridescent shell/MOP-style pieces.
